CHEYENNE -- A study of medical malpractice insurance in Wyoming over the last 30 years says the insurance industry, not the legal system, is to blame for causing physicians' rate hikes.

Conducted by Americans for Insurance Reform, the report concludes that medical insurance companies' premiums correspond to the strength of the national economy, rather than increases or decreases in the amount they pay in jury awards, settlements or other costs.
