RIVERTON -- State legislative leaders have called the 57th Wyoming Legislature into a special session in July to deal with what some are calling a medical malpractice insurance crisis in Wyoming.

For more than two years, lawmakers have been mulling the impacts of increasing medical malpractice insurance rates on the state's physicians. One of those is the belief that Wyoming doctors will relocate to states where their rates will be more affordable. That would cut access to medical care by Wyoming residents, especially in rural areas.
