Measure Would Force Review of School Land Sales

CHEYENNE -- A bill approved by the Senate Education Committee on Monday would require the Wyoming School Facilities Commission to review proposed land sales before school districts could sell property they own.

Sen. John Schiffer, R-Kaycee, sponsor of Senate File 131, said the bill is designed to prevent districts from selling land appropriate for schools then expecting the state to buy more land to build schools on.
