I-80 Wreck Tests Homeland Security Trailers

CHEYENNE -- Two new trailers for the state Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management were put to the test for the first time last month at the chain-collision crash scene on Interstate 80.

Lt. Col. Sam Powell of the Wyoming Highway Patrol told the Legislature's Joint Transportation, Highways and Military Interim Committee this week about the maiden voyage for the 37-foot trailer that serves as a communications center during emergencies or hazardous material events.
